De bereidingswijze

Stap voor stap

  1. 1

Bring water and salt to a boil in a medium pot.

    Ongeveer 5 min

  2. 2

Add the millet couscous to the boiling water, stir once, then cover the pot and remove from heat.

  3. 3

Let the couscous steam for 10 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the grains are tender.

    Ongeveer 10 min

Tip van de kok: Do not lift the lid during this time to ensure proper steaming.

  4. 4

Fluff the cooked couscous with a fork and set aside to cool slightly.

    Ongeveer 2 min

  5. 5

In a large bowl, whisk together the condensed milk, evaporated milk, yogurt, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and orange blossom water (if using) until smooth.

    Ongeveer 3 min

Tip van de kok: Ensure the yogurt is at room temperature to prevent curdling when mixing with cold milk.

  6. 6

Gently fold the cooled millet couscous into the milk mixture until well combined.

    Ongeveer 2 min

  7. 7

In a separate bowl, combine the diced pineapple, mango, sliced banana, and sliced strawberries to create the fruit salad.

    Ongeveer 5 min

  8. 8

To serve, spoon the millet couscous mixture into individual bowls.

    Ongeveer 1 min

  9. 9

Top each serving generously with the fresh fruit salad and sprinkle with raisins if desired.

    Ongeveer 1 min

Tip van de kok: Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
