Fremgangsmåde

Trin for trin

  1. 1

Bring the water to a rolling boil in a kettle or saucepan.

    Ca. 3 min.

  2. 2

Place the black tea leaves into a heatproof pitcher or teapot.

Kokkens note: For easier straining later, you can use a fine-mesh tea infuser or a tea bag.

  3. 3

Carefully pour the boiling water over the tea leaves.

  4. 4

Steep the tea for 5 minutes to achieve a strong brew, or longer if you prefer a more intense flavor.

    Ca. 5 min.

Kokkens note: Do not over-steep, as it can make the tea bitter. Adjust steeping time to your preference.

  5. 5

Strain the tea leaves from the brewed tea, discarding the leaves. If using a tea infuser, simply remove it.

    Ca. 1 min.

  6. 6

Let the brewed tea cool down for at least 10 minutes at room temperature.

    Ca. 10 min.

Kokkens note: You can also place the pitcher in an ice bath to speed up cooling.

  7. 7

Fill serving glasses generously with ice.

Kokkens note: The more ice, the faster the tea will chill and the less diluted it will become over time.

  8. 8

Pour the cooled tea over the ice and serve immediately.

Kokkens note: This tea is typically served unsweetened. If you prefer, you can add a touch of sugar or condensed milk to individual servings.
