The method

Step by step

  1. 1

Combine the rolled oats, plant milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a jar or container with a lid.

    About 1 min

Cook’s note: A mason jar works perfectly for this, or any container that can be sealed.

  2. 2

Stir well to ensure all ingredients are thoroughly mixed and the chia seeds are not clumping.

    About 1 min

  3. 3

Place the lid securely on the container and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.

    About 3 min

Cook’s note: The longer it rests, the creamier the texture will be.

  4. 4

In the morning, give the oats a good stir.

  5. 5

Add optional toppings such as fresh berries and chopped nuts before serving.

Cook’s note: Feel free to get creative with your toppings – sliced banana, shredded coconut, or a dollop of plant-based yogurt are also great additions.
