The method

Step by step

  1. 1

Unwrap the block of cream cheese and place it in the center of a serving plate or shallow bowl.

    About 1 min

Cook’s note: Letting the cream cheese sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes can make it slightly easier to dip into, but it's not required.

  2. 2

Pour the cocktail sauce evenly over the top of the cream cheese, letting it drip down the sides.

    About 1 min

  3. 3

Arrange the cooked shrimp over the cocktail sauce.

    About 2 min

Cook’s note: Pat the thawed shrimp dry with a paper towel to prevent the dip from becoming watery.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the chopped fresh chives over the top for garnish, if using.

    About 1 min

Cook’s note: Fresh parsley or dill also work well as a garnish.
