Mission
Eat better. Give back.
Forkin is a small, independent team. A share of every subscription funds partner non-profits working on food, health, and the environment — and we’re transparent about where every euro goes.
What we promise
Four commitments we keep
5–20% to non-profits
Every paid subscription donates. Mission supporters donate 2× to 4× more.
Green-energy infrastructure
All AI models and servers run on renewable energy in European data centres.
EU-hosted, GDPR by design
Your scans, diet, and pantry stay in Europe. No US Cloud Act exposure, no data brokering.
No ads, ever
You are the customer, never the product. Your data is never sold or used for advertising.
How it works
How our donation programme works
- 1
You subscribe on the web
Mission-tier donations are processed on this site by Paddle, our European merchant of record. Paddle handles invoicing, VAT, and chargebacks.
- 2
We allocate your donation share
Every quarter we ring-fence the donation pool (5% of net revenue for paid plans, 10–20% for mission tiers) into a separate accounting line.
- 3
Mission members vote on the cause
Each quarter, contributing members vote on which partner non-profit receives the pool. Votes carry 1× weight at the lower mission tier and 3× at the higher one.
- 4
We publish a quarterly impact report
Every three months we post a public report with the amount donated, the receiving partner, and a one-page summary of what the funds will support.
Partners
Where donations go
We partner with registered non-profits across Europe whose work aligns with Forkin’s plant-forward mission — farm-animal sanctuaries, anti-factory-farming advocacy, and marine protection. Every candidate is explicitly vegan-aligned or runs a rescue-only operation that never commercialises animals. Every candidate also holds Polish OPP (Organizacja Pożytku Publicznego) status or an equivalent EU/EEA public-benefit designation, so donations qualify under Polish tax law and the Hein Persche doctrine for cross-border giving.
Current shortlist
The quarterly ballot selects three candidates from this shortlist. Contributing members vote on which one receives that quarter’s donation pool.

How we pick our partners
Before any donation is sent, we verify the recipient is a qualifying public-benefit organisation under Polish law (either a Polish OPP or an EU/EEA equivalent under the Hein Persche doctrine). We collect their current statute, confirm in writing that funds will be used for qualifying public-benefit activity, and record every transfer. We never offer reciprocal promotion in exchange for funds — donations are gratuitous, never sponsorship.
Quarterly vote
The quarterly cause vote
Contributing members choose where the pool goes. The ballot runs for the full quarter; voting closes a week before quarter end and the result is announced in the impact report. This is not charity advice — it’s shared stewardship of a pool we all contribute to.
Support
Ways to support our mission
Mission-tier donations are available on the web only and take effect as soon as your payment confirms. The app will show your badge on your next sign-in.
Using the free app?
Free users fund our mission by contributing product data — scans, submissions, and corrections improve the database for everyone.
Already on a paid plan?
Thank you. 5% of every Essential and Pro subscription already funds our partner non-profits. If you want to amplify that, consider a mission tier below.

FAQ
Common questions
Why is the mission tier only on the web?
Donations to non-profits are processed outside our mobile apps per the iOS and Android store rules, and because web checkout (via Paddle) costs far less than in-app billing — more of your contribution reaches the partner non-profit.
Is this tax-deductible?
No. Mission-tier payments are commercial subscriptions to Forkin, not direct donations from you to a charity. Forkin donates to its partner non-profits after receiving payment; if you need a tax receipt, donate directly to the partner of your choice.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Manage or cancel your mission subscription from your account page. You keep access (and the badge) until the end of the current billing period.
How does the app know I’m a mission member?
When Paddle confirms your payment, our server records the mission tier on your account. The app reads it the next time you sign in — no in-app purchase needed.
Refunds?
Paddle is our merchant of record and handles all refunds. Contact support within 14 days of payment for a full refund, no questions asked.
How do we verify the donations actually happen?
Every quarter we publish a public impact report with the partner, the amount, and a reference that you can cross-check against the partner’s own reporting. The first report will appear one full quarter after the programme launches.
Forkin is a commercial service, not a registered charity. Mission-tier payments are subscriptions, not direct charitable donations. The percentage described on this page is of net revenue (after payment processing fees) and is donated by Forkin to its partner non-profits. Your subscription is not tax-deductible; donate directly to a registered non-profit if you need a tax receipt.
